It's blog catch up time...so here are some pics from the last month. (There are a lot of them since I am so great at updating my blog:) It's my New Year's resolution to update at least twice a month...yay! (sadly that will be an improvement)
Hayden's fabulous gingerbread house he made in preschool
The boys dressed up for Christmas brunch with the Steed/Anderson family
Andy wasn't a fan of Santa (I'm so thrilled I was given the opportunity to sit on Santa's lap!)
Hayden snuck away from our brunch table numerous times to spy on Santa.
After the first snow fall I dressed the kids to play outside, but by the time we got out there...it was gone. Poor kids! Andy was thrilled to just be outside! I made one snowball and we had to keep track it and reuse it!
A little disappointed.

The Birds and the Bees
An Interview with Harry the Tarantula
I picked out this book from the library thinking Hayden would love a spider book! Not so much. When reading to Hayden before bedtime, Mike about died when he started reading this page:
(The spider is being interviewed by another bug)
Q:What do you do that you have to be quick about, if you don't mind my asking?
A: I have to transfer my web sack of sperm to her. I must be very careful and tap her in all the right places. Tapping puts her in a romantic mood. Then I transfer my sack, and I'm out of there in a flash. So far, so good. I can thank my lucky stars.
Mike started laughing hysterically! Hayden was a little confused! Seriously...come on people! This book is for kids!
If anyone needs to have "The" talk, let me know, I'll send this book right over.

Trick or Treat!!
Hayden of course woke up bright and early Halloween day eager to go trick- or-treating. We told him when it starts to get dark we can get ready to go trick-or-treating. Since it was still dark when he woke up he kept trying to convince us it was time to head out! During the day he kept panicking that he missed his chance to go. Andy of course was oblivious. Hayden made a handsome Jack Sparrow and Andy was a cute Pooh. We took the kids out with some neighborhood friends, then I went back for trick-or-treat duty. I guess Hayden sprinted from door to door with his friends (Audrey, Hayden and Tabby). He has turned into a trick-or-treating machine!! Andy would try to keep up as much as possible! The kids went to one house where the man handing out the candy wasn't exactly Mr. Rogers. He told the kids, "Just one, only take one!" You say that to Hayden and it just turns into a challenge. So Hayden just started grabbing more, and the guys yells, "One! One! One!" Mike chirps in, "Hayden, only take one." Mr. Chipper then gives Mike the evil eye, as to say, "I cannot believe your not giving that candy back!" Wish I would have been there. The kids we're out for over an hour, they had a lot of fun. Even Andy who was like, what...is...going...on..
Andy and his cousins, Justin and Jackson at the Steed Halloween
party. Three very busy boys....cute busy boys.
Hayden, Sydney, Elise, Aubrey, and Jackson. It was fun to see
all the kids in their costumes!

My First Haircut!
So....as you can see, Hayden decided to give himself a haircut! I was changing Andy's diaper and I looked up and saw something fuzzy in his hand, and didn't think much of it, until I saw scissors in his other hand! I had left his scissors on the counter (stupid! stupid!) and I guess he assumed that if his mom can cut his hair, why should he be able to do the same? I couldn't get mad at him, it was just too funny. And of course he cut two big chuncks right in the front.

Zoo Trip
We went to the zoo on Friday and the kids had so much fun! I have to admit it's a little stressful when I have 2 boys that like to run! Andy was so excited to see every animal, it was hilarious. He and Hayden sat and stared at turtles for 5 min. strait. Andy, "Toodle!" I think Hayden's favorite part was just hanging out with his cousins....and the ice cream:)

Weekend in San Francisco
Go Niners!
Mike and Hayden left me and Andy at home last weekend to see Steve get his jersey retired at the 49ers game. They went with Mike's family and were able to meet up with Mike's sister Lara and her husband who now live in the Bay Area. They went down on the field before the game and during halftime to watch the ceremony. They were really excited to be able to see that. They even got to stay at the Four Seasons (even though Mike told Hayden to tell me that they stayed at Motel 6).
The group also went to Alcatraz which was neat for Hayden to see, thanks Lara for taking pictures for Mike. ( I forgot to send him with a camera). Hayden felt like such a big kid to be able to go with his Dad on a trip.

Hayden was attached to his cousin Jake the whole time....followed him everywhere and always had to hold his hand.

Go Aggies!
I know, I know, I suck at updating my blog. But FINALLY I'm posting! Yay!
Mike and I and the kids headed up to the Aggies vs. BYU game yesterday. Mike passionately hates BYU! I'm not a fan either, but at least I wasn't wanting to rip off every BYU car flag on the way up. He cracks me up. We had a lot of fun and we were glad the Aggies put up a fight.
We met up with some family and friends, Justin and Heidi and their oldest son Jake. Mike's grandma has a box at the game so we were grateful to be able to let the boys run. They had pop and cookies for dinner, yum....healthy. Hayden played in the buffet area with Jake and ripped apart the center pieces (catering wasn't thrilled about that, but whatever entertains!) and Andy ran laps around the balcany while fliritng with the girls.

Hayden had one too many cookies:)

Hayden's Getting Learned!
Hayden had his first day of preschool on Tuesday, and he was so excited! Mostly because he could bring his lightsaber for show and tell. He's enrolled at a neighborhood preschool with his cousin Thatcher, the two of them will keep Miss Kathy pretty busy!! He was so cute walking around with his little school bag. Andy didn't like being left behind, but had a nice uninterrupted nap! I can't believe he's in school already! Time goes by way too fast!

Happy 4th Birthday Hayden!!
Hayden had his 4th birthday on August 5th, and he had a total blast! He woke up and first thing he wanted to open his presents of course. So he woke up Andy and we made Mickey Mouse pancakes while he opened all of his gifts. He now has a record number of swords. Later that night we got together with some of his cousins and played at the pool. The next day Mike and I headed to San Francisco for the remainder of the week.(thanks Randy & Chris, and Bob & Peggy for taking care of the boys! We'll show the trip on a later post) When we returned we had another get together at Bob & Peggy's to celebrate Hayden's Birthday with the Steed side of the family. He has been spoiled rotten, and he has loved it. As you will notice, he celebrated his birthday as a pirate, Batman and Frodo!

Go Mets!
So we signed Hayden up for T-Ball with two of his cousins. They all had a total blast.......doing everything but playing T-Ball. Hayden was always searching through everyone's purse to find some candy. It was always ridiculously hot, and one time I caught Hayden hiding under some strangers chair for some shade. Poor kid. Hayden was always wandering off the field to go play somewhere else, and Andy was always wandering onto the field yelling "ball? ball?". Couldn't keep Hayden on the field and couldn't keep Andy off. They were some busy games. Luckily Mike was able to make it to almost all of the games! We'll give soccer a try next year.
Again, not running to a base, but running nonetheless.
Strike Four!
Yes Hayden, baseball really is this boring.
Hayden's cousin Thatcher, running anywhere EXCEPT the bases!
The Mets were an intimidating force all season!

Again, not running to a base, but running nonetheless.
"See Hayden! This is how it is done!"
Trenton, Hayden's cousin.
Strike Four!
Andy sure had fun though!

Mike is Fired!
So last Saturday, we were driving down Bountiful Blvd trying to find the park where Mike's 10 year reunion was being held. When all of a sudden Mike sees a cop car with its lights on behind him and pulls over to the side of the road. Turns out...he was driving 17 mph over the speed limit and the cop had been following us for several minutes. He did not seem happy. To make matters worse, Mike didn't even have is driver's license on him.
After the cop had gotten our information and walked back to his car to write the ticket, Hayden shouted from the back seat, "Dad...YOU'RE FIRED!!" I don't know where he got that from, but it lightened the mood a bit.
(The cop was nice enough not to give us a ticket, however, he did give Mike a big lecture on how he needs to pay attention more when he drives.)

Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day Mike! The boys are so lucky to have such an incredible dad. Hayden can never wait for you to get home from work cause he knows he'll get some intense sword fighting in, and get to act out a scene or two from Star Wars or whatever movie he's currently obsessed with. Andy is always thrilled to be with you whether it's playing tackle or tag or just sitting on your lap. (No wonder these boys wear me out! Man!) I love how he gets so excited to see you when you get home from work, or just get back from taking out the garbage! DADDY!!! DADDY!! You are a very involved dad, which we are so grateful for! (Especially me:) SMOOCH
